Suzan writes heartfelt mysteries that connect readers to the natural world around us. After leaving a successful career as a business consultant, she turned her lifelong passion for writing fiction into a fulltime pursuit. A handful of her shorter works have won top honors, including Idaho Writers Guild best short story and first chapter. She was also shortlisted in a recent Flash500 writing competition. Inspiration for her current project, BONES TO THE CEDARS, comes from her own feral childhood growing up on a ranch in the Pacific Northwest.

Suzan is a member of the Idaho Writers Guild, Mystery Writers of America, and The Cabin, a nonprofit that supports Boise’s community of readers, writers, and learners. She continues to hone her skills by attending writers conferences and seminars, including a workshop on strategies and techniques for dialogue and plot lead by David Heska Wanbli Weiden, professor at Stony Brook University (MFA program) and author of the national bestseller Winter Counts.

An advocate for nature and biodiversity, Suzan is a member of the Payette Land Trust, a local nonprofit dedicated to conserving the rural landscapes of Idaho. She lives in the mountain town of McCall, Idaho, and when not writing, she can be found with her husband on the ski slopes, the lake, or a nearby hiking trail. Her latest reads include books by authors Tana French, Jeneva Rose, Kate Alice Marshall, and Nick Newman.

Suzan is represented by Gina Panettieri at Talcott Notch Literary.
